DEHUMIDIFIERS

DEHUMIDIFIERS

If you are an avid indoor plant growing enthusiast like us, you know the importance of maintaining an ideal grow room or grow tent.

From the ideal temperature to the right level of moisture, many factors influence your plants’ quality. However, grow rooms are moisture-prone areas which can have adverse effects on your produce.

If you’re looking to maintain the right humidity level, invest in a dehumidifier.

What size dehumidifier do I need?

Dehumidifiers are sized according to how many pints they can remove a day. To find which size is best for you, follow this simple equation:

[number of plants] x [gallons per day per plant] x 8 [ gallon to pint factor]
= [recommended dehumidifier performance]

For better understanding, let us assume an example where you have 10 plants. For each plant, you spend 1 gallon per plant per day. Hence you have 10 gallons of moisture in the room.

As you know, dehumidifiers are rated in pints. By multiplying the number of gallons given to each plant each day by a factor f 8, will convert the gallons to pints. For this given example, the dehumidifier must have the capacity to remove 80 gallons of water per day.

Investing in the right units is the key factor to maintaining the ideal humidity level in any space. Even the best dehumidifier might seem ineffective if the needs of the specific environment are not met.
